Augusta, GA • Friday, April 27, 2018 • 7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
40th Annual Marvin C. Goldstein Lecture Series: Tips and Tricks for Direct Resin Composites Restorations, Adhesion and Esthetics Event Image Direct resin composites are a very important and integral part of every general dental practice. These restorations provide patients with minimally invasive restorations that preserve tooth structure while providing esthetics, longevity and function. Additionally, they are personally rewarding and can be cost effective when performed efficiently. However, dental practitioners face difficulties while bonding and placing these restorations. This presentation will provide tips and techniques for predictable and sensitivity-free bonded restorations in daily practice. It will provide guidelines for shade selection, cavity preparation, layering style, achieving proximal contacts, and contouring and polishing to obtain functional and esthetic restorations. A step-by-step approach will be used to present how to achieve excellence in bonding and in various direct restorations including, Class IVs, diastema closure and direct veneers. Numerous cases will be illustrated demonstrating the techniques described to allow the practitioner to implement high quality direct composite resin restorations into their practice.

Dr. Marvin C.Goldstein was a noted Atlanta orthodontist and philanthropist who for 20 years sponsored an internationally renowned dental clinician to lecture at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. Dr. Goldstein believed the integrity of the dental profession could best be preserved by promoting clinical excellence and sharing information with colleagues. Following his death in 1997, Mrs. Rita (Goldstein) Wolfson arranged to perpetuate her husband's contributions to the dental profession through a gift to Augusta University that will continue to support the Annual Goldstein Lectureship. Augusta University and the dental profession continue to be served through the generosity of the Goldstein family.
