Abstract

This webinar will present an overview of normal craniofacial growth and development in infants and children, while considering the factors in Western culture that have contributed to the underdevelopment of the craniofacial complex. The effects that restricted oral tissues, palatal expansion, myofunctional therapy, and nasal breathing have on proper growth and development will be covered. Signs and symptoms of sleep disordered breathing in children, which can lead to obstructive sleep apnea in adults, will be identified.
