Abstract

This course will discuss how to manage forces on the anterior and posterior teeth to stabilize the occlusion, increase neuromuscular harmony, and maximize restoration comfort and longevity. Posterior occlusal contours for composites, single tooth crowns, and larger reconstructions will be examined, as well as why the lingual contours of the anterior teeth are critical for long term stability of the entire occlusion. Finally, how to easily reshape teeth to optimize the forces placed upon them will be considered.
