By Howard Strassler, DMD

Commercial Supporter: Parkell

Clinicians face numerous challenges related to providing the tooth-colored composite restorations that patients now demand. Dentists can place these Class II and Class V restorations more predictably using recommended techniques, tools, and materials, including bulk-fill composites that can be placed in a single 4-mm increment, rather than multiple 2-mm layers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Review the challenges presented by posterior composites.

  • Discuss material and technique advances for predictable results.

  • Describe the use of composite resins for restoring proximal surfaces.
