This CE article examines the available resin-based materials that are designed for CAD/CAM dentistry, and their use for the fabrication of indirect restorations using subtractive (ie, milling) and additive (ie, 3D printing) methods. Clinical applications of a wide range of resin-based materials are discussed. In addition, possible future advances of these dental materials and their growing use are considered.
