Abstract
Attendees will understand the importance of Standard Precautions as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care. This will include a review of wearing PPE and the appropriate use of disinfectants and barriers. They will be also able to describe the proper method for sharps disposal as well as other engineering controls. Finally, attendees will be able to describe the recommendations for waterline disinfection and testing from the CDC to ensure patient safety.

- Be able to identify Standard Precautions as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care.

Joyce Weeks, BS, MSc is the owner of Dental Ed, Inc. Ms. Weeks graduated from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, with a masters in Immunology and Global Health in 2014. She completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Colorado State University.
Amy Wood is a best selling author, speaker, consultant, and coach. She has a background in Healthcare Information Technology.
