Author Qualifications:

Dr. Cherae M. Farmer-Dixon has served as Dean of the School of Dentistry at Meharry Medical College for ten years, dedicating thirty-two years to dental education. Prior to her current role, she served as Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at Meharry's School of Dentistry. Beginning March 2026, Dr. Farmer will Chair the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).  Dr. Farmer earned her undergraduate degree from Mississippi Valley State University (1986), followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S., 1990) and Master of Science in Public Health (M.S.P.H., 1994) from Meharry Medical College. She holds additional credentials including an Executive Master of Business Administration from Tennessee State University (2019), a Certificate from the Institute of Educational Management at Harvard University (2017), and a Public Health Residency Certificate from Boston University (2014).
