Abstract
This course discusses strategies for providing effective non-surgical periodontal therapy. Disease etiology and a sequence of disease pathology will be explored. Antimicrobial adjuncts to care will be presented, as well as factors that influence disease progression. Homecare modalities, components of a periodontal debridement appointment, and the difference between a prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance will also be covered.

Author Qualifications:
Ms. Watterson is the owner of Watterson Speaking/Consulting LLC. She is a former adjunct faculty member at Guilford Technical Community College in the dental hygiene department. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for The Speaking/Consulting Network. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM), and The Christian Medical/Dental Association (CMDA). She serves on the editorial board for RDH magazine.
