Abstract

The Patient Communication and Education course is designed to equip dentists with effective communication strategies for discussing pain management and opioid prescriptions with their patients. This session will cover key topics such as setting realistic patient expectations regarding pain control, addressing patient concerns, fears and misconceptions about opioids and providing patient education materials and resources. By the end of this course, participants will have the skills and knowledge to engage in open and productive conversations with patients about pain management, promote informed decision making and provide comprehensive patient education to enhance treatment outcomes.
