Elliot V. Hersh DMD, MS, PhD
Elliot V. Hersh, DMD, MS, PhD, is a professor of oral surgery/pharmacology and director of the Division of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. A graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey, he was the 2007 recipient of the International Association of Dental Research Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology Distinguished Scientist Award. An invited lecturer to numerous dental and medical organizations, Dr. Hersh has produced more than 90 publications, scientific abstracts, and book chapters and has conducted numerous clinical trials in the areas of local anesthesia and postoperative pain control. He is on the editorial board of Clinical Therapeutics, Current Medical Research and Opinion, and the Journal of Clinical Dentistry. He serves as Councilor of the Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutics Section of the International Association of Dental Research.
