    Markus B. Blatz, DMD, PhD, Dr med dent habil

    Marcus B. Blatz, DMD, PhD, is Chairperson of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine. He is the former Chairman of the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry and Biomaterials and Assistant Dean for Clinical Research at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in New Orleans and a senior faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics at Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg School of Dentistry in Freiburg, Germany, where he had completed a residency in prosthodontics/perioprosthodontics. A widely published and internationally respected lecturer, Dr. Blatz’s founded and directs Penn Dental Medicine’s CAD/CAM Ceramic Center, an interdisciplinary venture to study emerging technologies and new ceramic materials while providing state-of-the-art esthetic clinical care. Dr. Blatz holds editorial positions with numerous professional journals and is also an active member of many professional societies, including the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

    David Gelb, DDS

    David A. Gelb, DDS, completed his DDS and Certificate in Periodontics at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York and his implant surgical training at the University of Toronto.  He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology, a Fellow Academy of Osseointegration, and a Fellow of the American and International College of Dentists.  Dr. Gelb lectures internationally at major implant meetings and publishes extensively on implant dentistry in journals worldwide.  He is on staff at Hartford Hospital and has provided implant services for over 25 years in a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Surgery in West Hartford, Connecticut.

    Steve Hurson

    Steve Hurson is the former Chief Scientist for Nobel Biocare USA. LLC. As part of the Research and Development group Steve was responsible for new implant system development, including the NobelActive implant system. Steve holds 18 patents in the field of dental implants and lectures nationally and internationally on implant design and mechanics, prosthetics and implant surfaces in a consulting capacity for Nobel Biocare.

    Joseph Kan, DDS

    Joseph Kan, DDS, MS, received his postgraduate training in Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD). He is currently a Professor at LLUSD and maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. Dr. Kan is on the Editorial Board of the Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry and the European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. His honors include the Best Research Award from the Academy of Osseointegration in 1997, the Judson Hinckey Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2003 and the Robert James Achievement Award for his contribution in Implant Dentistry in 2005. Besides lecturing nationally and internationally, he has published over 50 articles in reference journals and chapters in textbooks with emphasis on tissue management and anterior implant esthetics.

    Sreenivas Koka, DDS

    Sreenivas Koka, DDS, PhD, achieved his DDS degree and completed specialty training in prosthodontics at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and then received a PhD degree in Oral Biology from the University of Nebraska. He also completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Koka maintains a private practice in San Diego, California.

    Barry P. Levin, DMD, is a Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology. A graduate of Temple University School of Dental Medicine, he earned his certificate in Periodontics from the University of Maryland. Dr. Levin has been on staff at the University of Pennsylvania-Periodontal and Dental Implant Surgery Department since 1996. Dr. Levin publishes and lectures both nationally and internationally on topics pertaining to dental implantology and periodontics and has been involved in research pertaining to new and advanced dental implant designs and bone regenerative materials. He maintains a private practice in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.

    Stephen Parel, DDS

    Dr. Parel was a faculty member in the University of Texas System in 1975, and full professor in the San Antonio Medical and Dental Schools in 1978. He served as head of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Division in the Department of Prosthodontics until 1991, which was followed by 7 years of private practice in prosthetic and implant dentistry. He was Director for Osseointegration Training at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio and professor at Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University System Health Science Center and Director of the Center of Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Pharmacology. He recently was the Director of Prosthodontics at a private Implant Specialty Clinic in Dallas, Texas.
