Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD
Dr. Louis Rose is unique among his peers. He is a periodontist who also has a degree in medicine. He received his dental training at Temple University, graduate training in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and his medical training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and New York University and also Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Drexel University, College of Medicine. Dr. Rose is a Diplomate and Director of the American Board of Periodontology and is on the editorial board of several peer reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Periodontology & Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Esthetic & Practical Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry and he is Editor-in-Chief of the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. He maintains a private practice in Philadelphia limited to periodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr. Rose is a nationally and internationally invited lecturer on periodontics, implant dentistry and medicine and has published extensively on these subjects. This includes the textbooks: Internal Medicine for Dentistry, Periodontal Medicine and Periodontics: Medicine, Surgery and Implants. In addition Dr. Rose has co-authored Periodontal Inflammation and Diabetes Mellitus published in Connections: Oral & Systemic Health Review and also published in the journal, Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Obesity.
Donald S. Clem, III, DDS
Dr. Don Clem grew up in Chicago and relocated to Fullerton after completion of his specialty training. He founded the practice, limited to periodontal medicine, oral plastic surgery (regeneration of lost bone and gum tissue), and dental implants in 1984. He has lectured on the topic of regenerative periodontics and dental implants both nationally and internationally. Dr. Clem currently sits on the editorial board of three scientific journals and conducts research in the field. He has taught in three institutions and continues to lecture to students throughout the United States. Dr. Clem believes in a team approach to care, working with the restorative dentist, hygienist and physician to manage the patient’s needs with the best periodontics can offer and a commitment to the patient’s well-being.
Robert Faiella, DMD
Dr. Faiella received his pre-doctoral education from Villanova University, earning two Bachelor of Science degrees, and his D.M.D degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dental Medicine. He received his graduate training in Periodontology as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, as well as a Masters of Medical Science degree from Harvard Medical School. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Academy of Dental Science, and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Dr. Faiella has served on numerous councils and committees on the national, constituent, and component levels. He is a past president of the Massachusetts Dental Society, and former ADA First District Trustee. He has also served as the chairman and sole director of ADA Business Enterprises, Inc., the wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of the American Dental Association.
Markus B. Blatz, DMD, PhD, Dr med dent habil
Dr. Markus B. Blatz is Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also founded the Penn Dental Medicine CAD/CAM Ceramic Center. Dr. Blatz graduated from Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany, and was awarded additional Doctorate Degrees, a Postgraduate Certificate in Prosthodontics, and, most recently, Professorship from the same University.
Dr. Blatz is co-founder and President of the International Academy for Adhesive Dentistry (IAAD). He is a Board-certified Diplomat in the German Society for Prosthodontics and Biomaterials (DGPro) and a member of multiple other professional organizations, including the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American College of Prosthodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, and O.K.U. Honor Dental Society. He serves on the editorial boards of numerous recognized scientific dental journals and is Associate Editor of Quintessence International as well as coauthor of the internationally celebrated book “evolution – contemporary protocols for anterior single-tooth implants”.
Dr. Blatz is the recipient of multiple teaching and research awards and has published and lectured extensively on dental esthetics, restorative materials, and implant dentistry.
David Gelb, DDS
David A. Gelb, DDS completed his DDS and Certificate in Periodontics at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York and his implant surgical training at the University of Toronto. He is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Periodontology, a Fellow Academy of Osseointegration, and a Fellow American and International college of Dentists. He is on staff at Hartford Hospital and has provided implant services in West Hartford for over twenty-five years.
Dr. Gelb has achieved global recognition as a leader in Implant dentistry having pioneered surgical procedures for finite esthetics in implant dentistry, immediate implant placement, and bone regeneration. He lectures nationally and internationally at major implant meetings and publishes extensively in journals worldwide on implant denistry. He developed the "Gelb Radiographic Depth Guage," a diagnostic surgical guide to heighten precise and optimum implant placement, and designed "The Implant Tracker," a comprehensive software program to manage the Implant practice.
Dr. Gelb continues to move forward with innovative implant surgical procedures including the unsurpassed "Teeth-In-One-Hour" and immediate loading. Dr. Gelb maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Surgery in his state-of-the-art facility in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he and his dedicated staff serve patients from all over the world.Dr. Gelb and his wife live in West Hartford. Dr. Gelb's wife Susanne Gelb, DDS is a Cosmetic Dentist in Hartford. They enjoy spending time with their four children and grandchildren. They are active in the community and are dedicated to their family, friends, neighbors and especially their patients
Steve Hurson began his career in dental implants as a Project Engineer at Denar Corporation in 1984. Working with Dr. Jack Hahn, the first Denar implants were developed and clinically evaluated. In August of 1986 the Denar implants were launched to the profession and were the first pre-cleaned and sterilized implants commercially available.
Steve became the Director of Research and Development at Steri-Oss Inc. in 1990 and Chief Scientist for Nobel Biocare USA. LLC. in 2001. As part of the Research and Development group Steve has been responsible for new implant system development. His accomplishments include the development of the Replace Tri-Lobe implant system and the development of the Steri-Oss implant system since its inception in 1984. In 2006 his group worked closely with Dr. Ophir Fromovich in the development of the Nobelctive implant system.
Steve has 18 patents in the field of dental implants and has lectured nationally and internationally on implant design and mechanics, prosthetics and implant surfaces. Steve is now retired and lecturing and consulting for Nobel Biocare.
Joseph Kan, DDS
Dr. Kan completed Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD). He is currently a Professor in LLUSD and maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. Dr. Kan is on the Editorial Board of the Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry and the European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. His honors include the Best Research Award from the Academy of Osseointegration in 1997, the Judson Hinckey Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2003 and the Robert James Achievement Award for his contribution in Implant Dentistry in 2005. Besides lecturing nationally and internationally, he has published over 50 articles in reference journals and chapters in textbooks with emphasis on tissue management and anterior implant esthetics.
Sreenivas Koka, DDS
Dr. Sreenivas Koka is passionate about serving his patients who have missing teeth and who need high quality dentures and partial dentures. He is also very experienced with dental implant treatments. Dr. Koka wants you to smile with confidence again, be able to eat well again and to no longer have pain or discomfort in your mouth. Dr. Sreenivas Koka was born and reared in Romford, England. He moved to the United States to attend dental school at the University of Michigan where he graduated with his DDS degree at the age of 22. He completed specialty training in prosthodontics (dentures, partial dentures, implants) also at the University of Michigan and then received a PhD degree in Oral Biology from the University of Nebraska. In 2013, Dr. Sreenivas Koka completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Dr. Sreenivas Koka has two older sisters. Dr. Parvathi Pokala is a pediatric dentist in San Diego and Dr. Anuradha Koka is a radiation oncologist in San Diego. Dr. Koka’s parents (father is a retired dentist) also live in San Diego. Dentistry runs in the family as there are sixteen dentists in Dr. Koka’s family spanning five generations.
Barry P. Levin, DMD
Barry P. Levin, D.M.D. is a Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology. A graduate of Temple University School of Dental Medicine, he earned his certificate in Periodontics from the University of Maryland. Dr. Levin has been on staff at the University of Pennsylvania-Periodontal and Dental Implant Surgery Department since 1996. Dr. Levin publishes and lectures both nationally and internationally on topics pertaining to dental implantology and periodontics and has been involved in research pertaining to new and advanced dental implant designs and bone regenerative materials.
Recently Dr. Levin has opened a brand new state-of-the-art facility in a new location in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, with eight operatories, designated for hygiene, nonsurgical procedures, and those that are equipped for surgical treatment, including IV sedation. The new facility is also equipped with the latest technology including digital radiography, CBCT scanning, and an advanced sterilization center for patient safety and comfort. It also has a private consultation room for detailed explanations and Q&A appointments for his patients.
Olga Malkin, DMD
Dr. Malkin received her dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh before continuing on to her 3-year post-doctorate education in Prosthodontics at the West Los Angeles (UCLA affiliated) VA Hospital. She was trained in surgical implant placement as part of her post-doctorate training.
Dr. Malkin’s post-graduate specialty training in comprehensive advanced restorative dentistry enables her to treat complex restorative cases including full mouth cosmetic rehabilitation, implant restorations, and denture conversion as well as implant restorations in one appointment. From general dentistry and thin porcelain veneers to full-mouth restorations, Dr. Malkin is able to care for all your dental needs. Her concentration and comprehensive approach to patients’ oral health allows her to coordinate complex treatments where multiple dental specialists are involved.
Dr. Malkin is a fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantologists (IOCI) who has taught part-time at UCLA. She has published in peer-reviewed Inside Dentistry medical journal and gave lectures at NYU, NJ Dental Society, California county Dental Society on topics of implant dentistry, including Teeth-in-a-day and All-on-4 implant treatment concept. She is a member of North America Advisory Council of Nobel Biocare, a leading dental implant manufacturer. She will be a speaker at Nobel Biocare 2016 Global Symposium in New York on a topic of All-on-4 implant treatment concept. Dr. Malkin was featured on NBC news and THE DOCTORS show on CBS while performing a smile rejuvenation procedure that utilizes dental implants and all porcelain crowns/veneers. She is a member of American College of Prosthodontics and American Academy of Laser Dentistry. Her article about all-on-4 procedure has been recently published in prestigious peer-reviewed “Inside Dentistry” magazine. She has lectured on advanced dental restorative topics to other dentists at NJ Dental Society, NYU, and Orange County Dental Society.
Dr. Malkin stays current with the latest developments in dentistry by attending continuing education courses and conferences. She is certified to perform procedures using a soft tissue laser.
Sanda Moldovan, MS, DDS
Sanda Moldovan, MS, DDS is an internationally recognized speaker, award-winning periodontist, author, and television personality and consultant on oral health, periodontics, nutrition, and anti-aging.
She has been speaking publicly since she was a teenager in Ohio, after emigrating from the Transylvania region of Romania. “I had to work very hard to get where I am today – in the privileged position of being able to help others transform their health and lives, she says. “I am proud to be living proof of how persistence, perseverance, and patience can help anyone achieve their dreams.”
Believing health issues that manifest in the mouth are key indicators for one’s overall health, she is a frequent speaker on periodontics and nutrition for Nobel Biocare – the world’s leading implant company. She lectures on dental implants and nutrition for a healthy mouth at the UCLA School of Dentistry and is a faculty member of Global Institute for Dental Education (GIDE).
An official spokesperson for Waterpik, Dr. Moldovan is the ‘go-to’ oral health expert for the Emmy-award winning syndicated daytime television series “THE DOCTORS.” She is a widely sought after oral health expert by network television shows such as NBC and CBS. She is an editor for the Inside Dentistry magazine, and is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and About.com.
She is a graduate of Ohio State University School of Dentistry. From there she went on to the University of California Los Angeles, for post-graduate periodontics training. She earned a Master of Science in Oral Biology from UCLA. Additionally, she is a trained and certified nutritionist as well as an American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) diplomate. Her professional affiliations include active membership in the Academy of Anti-Aging medicine, American College of Nutrition, and Academy of Laser Dentistry.
She stays on top of the latest research and technology in her fields of expertise, particularly laser and minimally invasive techniques in dental implant surgery, periodontal plastic surgery, and nutritional support. Her book, “Healing for a Pill-Popping Nation” is being published in 2016.
Dr. Sanda Moldovan’s office is mercury free (silver amalgam filling free) and mercury-safe. She is committed to practicing safe and healthy dentistry and using her high visibility in the public to educate and create greater awareness of the importance of how a healthy mouth translates in to a healthy body.
Stephen Parel, DDS
Dr. Parel was a faculty member in the University of Texas System in 1975, and full professor in the San Antonio Medical and Dental Schools in 1978. He served as head of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Division in the Department of Prosthodontics until 1991, which was followed by 7 years of private practice in prosthetic and implant dentistry. He was Director for Osseointegration Training at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio and professor at Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University System Health Science Center and Director of the Center of Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/Pharmacology. He recently was the Director of Prosthodontics at a private Implant Specialty Clinic in Dallas, Texas.
Sundeep Rawal, DMD
Dr. Sundeep Rawal received his dental degree from the University of Florida in 2006. He then moved to San Francisco to complete his residency in Prosthodontics at the University of California-San Francisco. He enjoys working with dental specialists and technicians to create state of the art dental treatments for the comfort of our patients.
Dr. Sundeep grew up on Merritt Island and is excited to serve the Brevard County community. He enriches our office with the most cutting edge technologies used in cosmetic and implant dentistry. Also, Dr. Sundeep is an avid educator and lectures all over the United States as well as internationally to teach other dentists how to better serve their patients.
Richard Sullivan, DDS
Dr. Sullivan is Vice President of Clinical Technologies for Nobel Biocare in North America. With practices in two teaching hospitals in Chicago he began a two-year implant training program at Harvard University in 1987 and has provided placement, restorative and dental laboratory aspects of patient treatment since this time. His evolving position within industry spanning 25 years has included unique international working relationships within education, clinical research, product development, engineering, and manufacturing bringing a ‘patient first’ clinical perspective. He has co-published with clinical leaders on several implant rehabilitation topics and has been a speaker at university, hospital and professional organization programs. He is on the editorial board of Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, and is a fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration.
