Joel H. Berg DDS, MS

Joel H. Berg, DDS, MS, is a professor and Lloyd and Kay Chapman Chair for Oral Health in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, University of Washington (Seattle). A graduate of the University of Iowa and a board certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Berg is president of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation. Previously, he held the position of vice president for clinical affairs at Philips Oral Healthcare, where he was responsible for clinical research, including internal and external trials; regulatory issues; and advising in the development of new business and professional strategies. Dr. Berg is the author of a number of manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters on various oral healthcare subjects, including restorative materials for children and other work related to biomaterials. His current research interests include the development of dental caries prevention programs using risk assessment models and early childhood oral health.
